Turn off Autorun and prevent infections

AutoRun or known as AutoPlay is a feature used by removable devices such as pen drives , memory cards and other flash based storage medias to run a specific program automatically as soon as the device is plugged in to the system but this is no more a good feature and used by sad hackers to infect your PC with more sad making viruses like trojans or malwares

Now how to prevent it?

You an disable autorun by some easy steps as follows

For Windows Xp users

• Go to run and type gpedit.msc and press enter
• Now a application named group policy editor will open
• Click on user configuration
• Click on Administrative templates
• Click on system
• In the near last click on Turn Off Autoplay

For windows Vista and 7 users

• Click on start button and select Default Programs
• Click on Change AutoPlay settings
• Untick "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices"
• click on save and really save your PC from infections
